I discovered reborn dolls in the summer of 2009 when I saw a segment about them on a TV show. I was absolutely fascinated by them. I have never been a lover of dolls, but I can't remember a time in my life that I wasn't enamored with babies. As a little girl, I would grab my aunt's Sears catalog and go straight to the nursery section to admire the pictures of babies and all of their cool stuff! I made my first reborn towards the end of 2010 and painted until 2015. I took a break until 2020 and then tried to pick the paint brush back up. I wasn't ready. I donated the one doll that I made in 2022 for a silent auction to support an animal rescue. I suddenly felt the urge to paint again and this time my heart was truly in it and I have been painting ever since. It makes me happy, makes others happy, and allows me to take a step out of my own way for a little while every day. And then there's a sweet little reborn baby to love and hold, until his true mama finds him.
